With my secondary setup I was not able to control the over rev......can't remember if I was able to do it with Dave's setup. I'm looking for top end so only want as much force in the secondary to control the shift without slipping

Also when you have a set up requiring heavy tip weight it don't recover from over shift after spin as well!

Ahh okay, I can't remember off the top of my head whats in there for the secondary spring... I know it's the stock primary spring in it, kit came with the new secondary spring and new helix, I believe it's a 6-2 wrap as well

That's what I ran into on my srx with the heelclickers, was setup for top end runs, no good in any powder at all, would over shift and not recover at all, definately do not want that on this setupAlso when you have a set up requiring heavy tip weight it don't recover from over shift after spin as well!

Its a very heavy secondary spring with a very steep initial helix angle and low finishing angle. Think it was rapped at 3-3 but maybe he has changed the kit

I don't have it setup for pure top end, just don't like having it back shift like a snow cross sled.

I know the helix is a steep start and shallow finish, dalton helix marked 072L on it. the wrap thats wrote down on the box is 6-1 and its a white spring

So when you add weight to the heels of these weights what exactly are you accomplishing?? If I reposition weight from the heel to the tip would that help the initial over rev I'm getting?

Ya it must have been changed because it was a purple epi spring wrapped at 3-3 last year

Heel weight controls initial rpm. Tip weight is for the top end

I used the same 50y STM weights on my 12 Apex Turbo that I used in Allens stock kit for that sled, just more cam and weight. I was in semi hard snow, leaving on stutter and spinning enough to blow a 12" hole in the snow and never hit the limiter! If you can't load enough weight on the STM's to stay off the limiter you either need the 60's or more cam.
When you say more cam you are talking about the Helix angle right? So if its a 46 then go to 48?

Heel to tip would make hole shot over rev worse!

So if I keep adding heel weight to control the initial over rev it's not going to sacrifice at performance elsewhere? There's definately room to add more weight

Yes 46 to 48 is more cam, shift harder, lower RPM.

And that's because your flinging the weight out faster with the added weight and getting to that higher rpm quicker in a sense?Heel to tip would make hole shot over rev worse!
