clutching question/s

I agree, that's alot of gear for that much track. What are you trying to do with the sled, lake race, off trail, etc? IMO you're gonna have a heck of time clutching that thing, and keeping belts on it.
its my trail sled (its like driving a dump truck thru tight trails but a lot of fun to me), but we line them up several times a weekend on the lake 1000' drags. been racing for a lot of years mostly prostocks and NA power adder 2 strokes, so understand clutching. was just looking for what was in it so I had a reference for starting point (have a garage full of springs, weights and helix from back when we went at it blindly, buy it, put it in, no good, shelf it haha)
did a couple runs yesterday (with clutching not right and under rev on top) and hit 114 with my radar gun. so it gets the load moving. i just know there is more there.
i also understand that the long track (load!) is robing top end. but if it comes out harder from the start and pull harder thru mid then the shorter track has to try to chase me down. a 1000' is not long enough race to make up the gap most of the time just my opinion.

If your only running 1000ft gear it down a tic, that will also make it way more fun in the trail's also. I doubt you have a very big collection of helix's for this secondary the are fairly new and the button ones won't work. If that truly
Is a 50 deg. Helix you have i would start there. Put the stock one back in if you have it and try

it is the stock helix (I was not sure what the stock angle was (now I know its a 35 deg), never said I had a lot of helix's for this sled (have them for the other race sleds I have mostly cat/polaris and some button yami) again all I was looking for what was in it when I got it so I had a starting point and not blindly buying stuff to try (then shelving it with the rest that will prob never get used again)
I know know what was in it and have a base line to build off
and yes I may have to eventually gear it down a little but want to try to get the max out of it first and laydown as much MPH as possible in 1000' (with a little more room for the occasional longer pull!, unlike when we set up the 660 ice drag sleds as we know the run is always 660' and we gear and clutch it for that. at 660 its out of gear and fully shifted out

Ok sounds like you gotter figured out, let er rip tator chip

I think I do (ordered some springs and a helix today)
Thank you to you and all that replied
