I'm running a 1.5 intense with 20 top gear. I tried it today in rough conditions but slightly packed with a loose top. I got 91 mph at 8500 rpm. I'm running d&fs. I'll remove the last tip weight and see if she'll pull 9000 rpm. I hope so because there's no more weight to remove.

Turks black spring Drag n Fly kit works perfect with that kit. I ran the 8bu-10s prior to the DnF's and had the same issue...couldn't get them to pull the rpms and felt kinda sluggish.....try running the tips empty and see if that helps.

I have the same kit and I'm having the same problem with not getting to target rpms 8900-9100

Hey Ryan. If I run a 1 inch track with studs and Turks black spring setup she pulls good but if I try with my 1.5 it's not the same. I know it's a bigger track but I'm having a hard time pulling the rpms.....ill figure it out but it will take time. Plus I'm running a 20 top. You'd think the lower gear would increase rpms.

Can't help ya there, I run the Ripsaw and my rpms have been bang on with that set up.....although I still haven't put a mile on my sled this season

Don't forget when running the D&F's your top rpm changes when you add or subtract arm weight. Did u change anything in your secondary with the track change? Could be a matter of a little tighter wrap.
The two different tracks are two very different set ups no matter what gearing you are running!
Everything depends on the amount of load that is put on your engine (clutches) with hook up. If you have way better hook up with the 1.5 it will bring rpm's way down. M2C

Well my wrap with the black spring setup is 80 degrees. So you're saying maybe try it at 90? Wouldn't that increase backshift and fight my upshift, thus slowing me down? I was always told to set your secondary for what you need, backshift or upshift, then adjust your primary accordingly.
I also heard that for drag racing you're better to have a lower degree wrap, let's say 60, so you're not fighting the motor with the extra tension. Any truth to this?

a little tighter wrap will increase your rpm's as well. Its like keeping it in a lower gear for a longer period until you reach higher rpm. May possibly help pulling the heavier track.
