Clutching?

I have a clutching issue. I have a Hi-tech ER roller clutch with a 52 deg helix and a fairly stiff secondary spring. Primary clutch is stock. This is on my 07 apex rtx. From a dead stop I hit the gas and the rpms go to about 10,000 rpm and drop right down to 9000 rpm. I just need to know if I can just put some more twist on the secondary or do I need to do something with the weights on the primary. I don't want to mess with the engagement rpm. thanks

Chad

You have wayyyyy too much helix for the stock primaryweights . How did you figure out you need a strate 52 when stock is 51/43??? Total 100% wrong choice in your secondary helix.

I ran a straight 52 on my srx and that clutch system came off of my srx so I just wanted to try it. I just need to know what I should do and where I should start. I know that you are very good with clutching Turk. I was hoping that you would chime in on this.

Too steep; get a shallower helix. If you make it work by lightening up the primary & getting a stiffer secondary & primary spring your gonna have a crappy compromise at the best & really unbalanced clutching with the secondary doing all the work.

Please decipher for me???

Buy aaens clutching handbook or learn about clutching. It would take more time then I have to decipher.

you could tweak for now and for a long time to come by either lightening your flyweights or a stiffer primary spring...and /or a stiffer secondary spring...just to try to run that helix which is too steep for the way it's setup now...
instead of reinventing the wheel (the stock clutching is decent) get a different helix! something with a finish angle around 44
