Hey guys just wondering if any of you have had to change the cylinder identification sensor on your sled ?? Wifes boosted Phazer flagged this code this weekend now turns over and wont run ordered sensor but need to clear code is yamaha dealer my only choice for the code clearing ??

I changed mine last season. I think the added exhaust heat may do it. None of the 3 local dealers had ever sold one, so I don't think the sensor itself is unreliable. Be aware it also referred to as the cam position sensor in some of the yamaha literature.

Be thankful you had the error code. Mine was internally shorted and caused an Er-1 that was real pain to diagnose.
The code should clear when you plug in the new sensor. If not, you can do it in diagnostic mode via the speedo buttons.

Hope you are up and running........ but the cam position sensor error, doesn't always turn out to be that either......

Hope you got it dialed in and running

WELL IM BACK NOW WITH THAT ERR1 ALSO, IT RAN AWESOME TILL THE WIFE DROVE IT LIKE SHE STOLE IT IN THE DEEP POWDER WE SHUT IT OFF THEN NO FUEL PUMP PRIME AND NOW ERR 1 AND CRANKS BUT NO FIRE WONDER IF I GOT A BAD SENSOR AND MINE IS SHORTED ?????????? IT RAN GREAT FOR A FEW RIDES NOW BUT SOON AS YOU THINK ITS SAFE BRING OUT THE TOW ROPE

It is possible you have a legit Er-1.

or

If you have a look at a wiring diagram, there is a 5 volt circuit that powers several sensors. Speedo pickup, cam position, crank positon, tps, coolant and air temp. sensors and intake air pressure sensors.
If this circuit is shorted, it can give the Er-1 message. That is what happened to me. A toasted LH drive axle bearing could also be suspect.
I would unplug everything on the 5v loop or pull that pin out of the plug at the ecu and see if it goes away.
They are the Blue and Black/Blue wires on the large plug.
