Hi guys, first I want to thank you for any and all help you are able to provide.
I have an 07 mtx, and I am getting a code 46. I see that means High/low voltage.
After it came up I rode home, shut off machine, then tried to restart. Battery only had enough juice to turn screen on, but not enough to crank motor.
Brought battery in house recharged and restarted sled. Code went away for about 4 miles of ridding then back on. Returned home and same problem dead battery.
I talked to dealer, said because original battery is now 5 years old, just replace and problem will hopefully go away.
I have since replaced the battery with a fully charged new one. Same problem still happening. Starts up, ride for a few miles, code comes back one, dead battery when I try to restart.
So the code 46 is a low voltage problem, the battery is not being recharged.
Is there anything I should check before I think about trying to change the stator?
By the way, I am in rural AK with no option of taking into the dealer.
Thanks again for the help guys!
Colin

How many volts on the battery before starting the sled and while it is running?
the voltage regulator
the regulator grounding
the stator (22-26 ohms)
the 40 amp fuse
the battery
the battery ground.
Nothing else is involved in the charging system. A short somewhere could
be draining it but a quick voltage check will tell you. Anything less than
14 at the battery while running (rev it slightly) is a charging problem.
If the fuse and stator are good it is the regulator. Providing your wiring
is all good.
