Thank you for having me on the board. first off I received code 81 on my 2007 phazer mtn lite when just going down the trail. So I decided to take the sled apart because of the annoying code blinking in my face. I found out the problem isn't the hand warmers themselves, isn't the hand switch and the wires and connections are in all good shape. The battery is also fine. my buddy has a 2008 mtx so I gave it a shot and switched the ECU's and guess what. the hand warmers worked again. question is, id rather not buy a new ECU but is their a way to erase that code? I tryed the code erase on the speed odometer but it doesn't work because the hand warmer is used in the erase process. oh FYI the thumb warmer does work. any suggestions are appreciated!! thank you.

Did you try your ECU in the other sled? Did it throw the code on his sled? As far as I know, there is no way to disable an individual code as the ECU is not programmable.

The same thing happened to my sled also but it was NOT the ECU that caused it. Next to the oil can on the main wire harness, there are small wires coming out to a plastic yellow block with a fuse like piece in it that had burnt.
