code 88

can anyone give me some input on a code 88 reverse circuit issue?? when it flashes 88 wont change from forward to reverse or vise versa, in fact wont really do anything and need to cycle the key to get it to work.

Check your wiring to make sure the harness hasn't shorted through. Make sure the grounding block isn't melted. Visual checks first.

X2. After those check out, the reverse and forward switches on the reverse gear box should be checked. If you have a copy of the repair manual, use the wiring diagram to check the wiring and circuits.
