Code SD-24 showed up half way on 210 back country ride. From what I’ve searched in the info on this forum it’s the speed sensor. But my speedo is showing proper speed, not sure if odometer is adding miles because all I can see on that line is the code. Tried disconnecting battery for a bit, still code. Speed sensor on chain case appears to be in place. Not sure what’s going on.
I’d appreciate help in troubleshooting this if anyone has any ideas
Thanks

Just thinking out loud - have you had your chain case open recently to inspect and adjust chain, change oil, etc? The only thing I can think of is a large amount of metal on magnets on end of track shaft. This could cause blurring of the magnetic lines between magnets and confuse the pickup. That should cause a speedo error but maybe not. If you've had it open and cleaned, then IDK.Code SD-24 showed up half way on 210 back country ride. It’s been about 1700 Miles since I’ve been in there I’m going to try that. Speedo seems like it spot on with no fluctuations. Very weird. Thanks

A buddy has a shop manual SD-24 gives reference to a “throttle switch” not the speed sensor like is posted in the FAQ page on this site. Shop manual points to it but gives no other explanation or fix. Does anyone know what and where the throttle switch is. It’s not the safety switch on the handle bar or the throttle position. Manual has different codes for those.

Loosened of the throttle cable to more than I would like it. About 3/16th “ maybe a bit more Code still there unless there is procedure to clear it. A quick tap of the lower right button clears code but it come back in about 30 second. Tried both running and shut off. ????

Reached out to Yamaha through dealer they say it’s tuned related. Kinda pissed me off as I thought it was an easy out for them. Reached out to Dave at hurricane and sure enough they have seen it before and something to do with loss of communication to cluster. Have to get it removed by tune installer. Didn’t get a explanation on why it happened again sled runs fine other than showing code. Not sure why the code list on the faq page on points to speed sensor. Anyways I think I’ve got it sorted out.
