friend and i were riding last night,he has a 2011 xtx apex,and he had a oil code come up,it would go away when he started to move,and come back on when he sat still.he just tripped 500 miles,and we were wondering if they had a 500 mile service light,no warning lights were flashing or the engine icon.does anybody know anything about this?and is there a way to cancell without going back to the dealer?

I have read on here that it is a reminder to get the service done since it is an important one. I think if there was a problem you would see the engine light.

thanks man friend was pretty worried,did a search and couldn't come up with anything.another question are they looking at anything else when they do this service?

I would wait for others to reply before going out riding since i dont have an apex it is just what i have read one here. Also not 100% sure what goes on at the first service, oil change for sure and maybe just adjusting stuff?

It's covered in the manual. The number is the mileage since the 500 mile oil change reminder lights up. The reset procedure is covered in the manual. It also has a unique feature pertaining to the low fuel light. Records the mileage from when the light comes on. Mine came on, and we traveled 19 miles before filling up. Still had 2 gallons left in the tank when I filled up

man am i glad to hear this,or my buddy really,he called 4 local dealers and nobody even had a clue,we rode saturday and the number on the display kept going up we thought it was rotating codes,they kept going up,never made the connection,boy what a bunch of dumbasses we are,thanks for the info.

I changed my oil at 475 and didn't do the reset and got the oil code, needless to say after the ride finished I reset it and haven't seen it again. Found it in the owners manual, i'm bad!!!
