Check underneath the plastic plate for the bottom of the motor(where you drain oil from the base)for hoses rubbing.

Underneath your secondary, the drive shaft bearing and speedo pick up. If the bearing goes, your sensor is doomed haha. I know its not is the front by the filter but still important IMO..... It happened to me

Dumb question but this is from the manual and its confusing the hell out of me.
Quantity
Total amount
3.8 L (3.3 Imp qt, 4.0 US qt)
Periodic oil change
2.8 L (2.5 Imp qt, 3.0 US qt)
With oil filter replacement
3.0 L (2.6 Imp qt, 3.2 US qt)
so how much oil am I putting back in the tank any in the motor direct? never did the full change before with hilter so i just want to make sure Im doing it right!

I put one down the top and 2 in the tank, start it up and get warm. Shut off and check the dip stick with the dip stick unscrewed and just resting on the top. It is a dry sump system, so a little over or under is fine, I usually go over.

I don't know why people think you need to add oil to the motor. That is only needed on a complete motor rebuild. I add oil 2 and a half to the tank. Then run it till operating temperature and top off.
Adding it to the motor will not hurt it I guess, the scavenger pump will just pump it to the tank so it can be sucked into the pressure pump and to the bearings. Seems pointless to do it.
As was said check with dipstick just resting in the hole not threaded in.

I believe it is 3.8 totally dry (like after rebuild), 2.8 if you just change the oil (not the filter), 3.0 if you change oil and filter.

I have a problem with cranking a dry motor. Thats why I drop a quart in the top.

I've been meaning to attach a rare earth magnet to the drain plug, now's a good time for you if you haven't finished and want to do it.

Thats a hell of an idea I assume your talking about right to the bottom of the drain bolt inside the tank? Where would you get one?
