Hey guys i just have a couple of questions
I have a 04 RX Warrior going to install a mountain rear heat exchanger on it and was wondering what type of coolant these sleds use?
and what is the best way to bleed the air or add the coolant to it after i install the exchanger?
One more when doing an oil change i know do drain the oil out of the oil tank and the motor itself and then change the filter but when going to add the new oil to it what is the process there? do I add it all to the tank then start and check it or some to the tank and the motor or??
thanks in advance

i'm a mechanic / machinist but new to sledding. these engines are dry sump which means the oil is contained in the external tank. the oil pump has two scavenge sections which pump oil from the engine into the tank. there's one pressure section which pumps oil from the tank to the lubrication circuits of the engine. imho you should drain all the oil, change the filter then add about two quarts to the tank. start the engine and run it for 30 seconds to a minute, shut if off than add oil to the tank to the desired level. personally i always fill the new filter before installation. not sure if your exchanger has a bleeder but the rear crossover pipe on my brothers 06 vector has a bleeder in it. on most problematic cooling systems it's best to tip the vehicle so there's a high point and bleed it prior to starting. it probably wouldn't hurt to bleed it a little while it's running. i would say any type of quality aluminum compatible coolant should suffice.

you can drain oil out of tank just leave the little bit of oil in the engine and you need to mix the coolant 60/40 any aluminum capatible coolant

why would you leave any oil in the engine? this contaminates the oil change even if it's a little bit. the pressure stage doesn't take suction on the sump it takes suction on the tank.
