Considering A New Sled For My Wife

I traded a 03 viper er that my girlfriend rode for a 09 Nytro Std. So far she is not very happy. I put the tall shield and side deflectors and the dumbo ears on it. She said it was cold, heavy and did not like how it handled the corners. I told her I could fix some of the handling problems. She rode it about 400 miles.Long story short she wants her viper back. Think very hard before you make a decision.

DeanO, it looks like your wife basically has a clean slate to work with there!! You know at all if she's gonna try and incorporate the blue seat in with the new graphics or she gonna get it recovered? Thx for posting pics!

jlemieu1, does she find it a handful at all? I'm not too worried about that on the Vector because anything's gonna feel like a feather compared to what she puts up with now! I believe the Vector is absolutely at home on the trails!! Thx for your response!

She handles it great. I put Curve XS skis on it which makes it corner MUCH better. She loves the rider forward seating which makes her feel more in control. I also put on Skins trail hand guards to keep her hand warm.

Honestly Im not to sure what she is going to do with the seat, she has been asking me if I can dye the blue black or even get a skinz seat cover. I know she told me she has a few drawings made up that would look good with the blue seat.

I know personally I would dye the seat black. its the only thing left blue on the sled.

I was orginally going to paint it Candy Flake Cobalt blue from PPG. That way we didnt have to do anything with the seat, but she wanted Pearl white with Blue Pearl highlights. So thats what she got.

If I had more time I was going to airbrush yamaha emblems in the paint, and then do some Ghosting with words in the clear coat.

I have attached 2 pics of the ghosting done in my apex with the yamaha emblem on the front, and ghosting on my truck with the rams head in the tail gate and "HEMI" on the fleet.

who knows she might make me pull the hood off and paint it a different color hahahaha.

One thing I enjoy is that she is making this her project and has really gotten into it, I think letting her personalize hersled was a great thing to do. Gives her something to do insted of just ride it.

Nice paint work on your sled and pickup DeanO! Would prolly look neat if you could incorporate the same thing into her sled!!

The two 120s I've (my wifes) had both started great cold after I turned the idle up from factory setting (1200) to 2000 rpms! Just give it full choke, turn key, it fires up, leave full choke for 1 minute & shut the choke off! It will idle until warm then ride off! All day at pitstops it doesn't need any choke unless its below zero & it has sat for hours!

I think the 2010s will be EFI! I don't think they designed the 126 EFI for just the two-ups!

Good report COLDONE! That's kind of what I figured. Usually once a machine is warm you can lay off of the choke and starting pretty much becomes like anything else! I agree with you about 2010, I wouldn't be surprised to see that RS Venture GT mill in the Vector! Then you'd have one complete trail sled package!!
