Need opinions. She want's a AC F6 or something like that, but i can't stand Arctic, and just the thought of having a cat in my garage makes me sick.

Pro's and cons with both sleds? The phazer should work good for her? Don't you think? She is a newcomer to the sport, and has never owned her own sled. Last season she drove my Nytro for maybe 2 hours. That's all she has ever ridden.

Any major faults on the Phazers? How is the fuel mileage on them?

Looking for opinions here guys! Thanks.

Honestly...... get the F6. For a few hundred miles a year the cost of operating an F6 and a Phazer is probably identical, even with the extra fuel and oil usage. The comfort, rider position, steering effort, and much warmer design (especially the hand warmers) doesn't hurt the F series either. Don't get me wrong I like the Phazer I have, but to be honest, I have a sled for my wife that she rides a few times a year which requires several hours of pre-storage maintenance (oil change) among the other things. They or someone marketed the Phazer as an entry level, well the amount of rider input that is required to ride them would not be considered entry. The F series is a favorite amount most of the reviewers for a reason. The 600 is old, doesn't get good mileage, and smokes like a chimney. The good news is that it is reliable a heck, and will probably run on diesel. There's no fancy fuel system that requires perfect fuel (like Doo), just the same old Cat EFI.

I agree with LJ. My girlfriend does like the creature comforts of her FX (electronic reverse, electric start, updated hand grips), but dislikes the seating position and the narrow and unpadded seat. A more conventional sled with a more "seated" position and a traditional wide and padded seat is what she will like much more for that day long ride. Just make your choice the most quiet sled in your catagory choice. Females hate noisy sleds. IMHO

LJ has it nailed. The Phazer is not IMHO a beginner sled. It requires a lot od rider weight transfer to get it to turn. It 'feels' top heavy to many. Set up to get the front to bite, it makes the steering stiff. Strong engine braking with the stock clutching can get a newbie in trouble on slick surfaces or downhill.

On the other hand, with an experienced nimble rider, it flat out rocks and offers a lot of bang for the buck.

Guys, this is not what i wanted to hear :o| hehe

If she handles the Nytro, she should be able to handle a phazer ?

I seriously don't what a cat in my garage.. Its like my worst nightmare

:4STroke:

this subject alwas has mixed responses, best would be to get her on one for a test ride ,but I know this is not what you want to hear.

I just bought a Phazer from a guy.
His wife had been riding it for a couple of years. I believe it was her first sled. She liked it just fine. He installed good snowtracker carbides and a few other things to make it handle.
I am putting my girlfriend on it this year. It is her first year riding as well. She has minimal time on a sled.

I dont want the hassle of a 2-smoker and she hates the smell.

So it was a vector or a Phazer. The Phazer won out as the vector is a bit pricey.

I am not too worried, lots of beginners start on the Phazer.

If you want her to like the phazer (which it sounds like you do) just do what I do.

When I know I am going to have all three sleds out and I know my wife will end up on the Phazer for the day, I make sure she starts on the phazer.

I let my stepdaughter get on the SXR 500 for ease of driving, I get on the SRX700 as it still rocks the trails and my wife gets on the phazer.

Going from one of the traditional sleds to the phazer can be very uncomfortable as it is so different. But starting the day on one seems to be quite a bit easier. I would suggest that if you are running to a test ride. Don't ride a traditional sled first. Get a fresh impression for the day on the phazer.

I find the same thing happens if a few of us guys swap sleds throughout the day.

You got it! :-o

My wife has had her phazer since 07 it now has 5800 miles and she hates riding anything else. I would look for a gt for her size the springs and shocks work better. My wifes sled is an fx with revaled shocks and gt springs. 07 you have to watch the supension and if all updates are be done. Larger windshield and side plastic on the gt is better, she also has gauntles for real cold days.

I cant believe you posted a pic!

I am planning to add a low snow wheel kit and a 4th wheel kit to remedy a few potential issues and hopefully make it somewhat bulletproof.

It already has the vent screen kit, tunnel closure kit, updated belt /reverse update and snow-trackers on stock skis and a tall windshield.

Put her on one! She will learn to love it!
