Considering a Phazer for my Girlfriend - need opinions

here is the wife and her sled

Just to make sure I was clear. I like my Phazer, in fact my wife loves her Phazer (I guess it is her sled). But.... If I had to do it again I would go different. Now if you demand a 4-Stroke then yeah your choice has been made, Just make sure you get rebuildable shocks so that you can valve accordingly. There are a few quirks above and beyond the normal Yamaha suspension issues. What I probably should have stated is you will only have to add gas and oil to the F6. The Phazer, you'll be doing the same things you have done to your sled, skis, Yamaheater, different windy, shock revalve, more wheels, did I mention skis? You get the point. I like to spend the sled fund on my 3-4 thousand miles per year, not her 500-1000.

Franklin what kind of shock covers are those?

Seriously, I love my sled, and i love my girl. They are dynamite (both of them..)

And Yeah. I demand a 4 stroke, i told her she could go buy a F6 or anything she wants, but when it breaks down i won't touch it...

I am seriosly so sick and tired of wrenching on the 2 strokes, and after i took the step up last season and traded my RMK 700 for a Nytro, there is no return...

On the other hand if she gets a phazer i'll be more than willing to spend some time and money on it.

I wish there existed a turbo / supercharger kit with a switch to turn on or off.. Then there would already been a Phazer Turbo next to my Nytro in the garage - with the possibility to turn off the turbo when she was riding ;)!

But it sounds good, now im just missing the money to buy her the phazer.

How is the maverick on the Phazer MTX? Does it work good, or is it like on the Nytro?

Thanks!

My wife rides a 09 Phazer GT. Her prior experience was about 500 miles on an MXZ500. It took a bit for her to get used to the Phazer, but now she loves it. I tuned in the shocks and dropped the limiter strap a couple of holes. New carbides and studs are on the menu for this year. My wife was never standing when she first started to ride the Phazer, but now she stands through the big bumps and throws it around like she grew up on a dirt bike.

My wife rides an 08 RTX with the Gt springs, shocks revalved, Gt windshield and Gt wind deflectors. She just loves the sled and will not ride anything else. When I am freezing my hands off on my nytro she is still nice and warm.

my wife absolutly loves her phazer gt,its an 07 with 11000 miles,i actually asked her if she was ready to step up to something newer and she refused, she's so used to her sled that she wont let it go,all updates were done in the first cpl season and all has been fine, only thing i had to change was the fuel pump relay and the 2 large idlers in the rear suspension, they froze in place and made a flat spot, very good on gas too

Sounds good guys. Thanks for all replies, you have been very helpful.
Guess i'll have to wait until summer to afford one for her,
since my Nytro season is starting soon :-o

My girlfriend loves her Phazer, it's an '09 MTX, turn key reliability and goes everywhere she needs it to go.

Dimebag: The maverick track on the mtx is ok, being that its a 2 inch paddle it doesn't fold over as badly as the 2.25" on the Nytro or Apex. That being said, it's still a maverick...

In modifying the FX for my girlfriend's winter rides, I will share this with you guys thinking about (or already there) having your GF/wife riding a Phazer. Schmit Bros. offers a great clutch conv. kit that lowers the engagement and more. Best female change for the Phazer.
OK, the second. The updated heated grips is #1. IMHO.
