Considering Nytro or Apex, Couple Questions..

I currently have an 07 Phazer, looking to upgrade. Considering a Nytro or an Apex. Mainly trail riding in southeastern and northern Wisconsin. One of the main reasons I'm looking at a new sled is for stability on hardpack in the 60+ speed range. Riding the Phazer on the wide trails up north is sometimes downright scary when you're making turns at 60+ on 1 ski.

The Nytro seems to sit high like the Phazer, and I'm wondering if that will be close to as tippy as the Phazer.

A dealer in my area has a leftover 2010 Nytro RTX, and a 2009 Apex GT. What do you think would be a reasonable price to get each for?

As far as price, its all what you'd be willing to pay. Leftovers can sometimes have good prices on them, or if they are in short supply in any particular area, they may hold tight on price? Only advise I can give is to do your homework on what is available when you're ready to make the switch, and its quite possible you'll come out a little better off by selling yours outright before buying a new one. Just my .02..
The Nytro wont be quite as tippy as your Phaser, and the GT would be the most stable, but alot of it is in your suspension set up. Both Nytro and the GT would be fine hanging in there at those speeds. The Nytro takes more body "effort" to ride agressivly though.

I owned an 06 apex. Have a nytro now. The apex I miss on big trail rides but the nytro is the better sled to play aroung on. Hard to beat an apex for trail riding.

I'd second what the others have said. The Nytro isn't nearly as tippy as the Phazer, but it does sit taller than an Apex. That being said- put a set of Hygear Triple-Rate springs up front and dial the rear suspension in and the Nytro will corner with the best of them- just requires more input (read: body language) from the rider. In the bumps there's no comparison- the nytro is far better, also more fun off trail. If, however, you regularly do 300 mile days on flat trails, or you prefer the more traditional ergonomics of a sit-down sled, you will probably prefer the Apex.

Yeah the phazer is pretty cold for long runs, my knees practically froze on one run up to Hurley, WI in 5 degree weather before I got new yamaha bibs lol.

I rode a07 phazer for two seasons before I switched to my Nytro. To me it handled just like the phazer, but heavier. It wouldn't come up on one ski as quick, but when it did, you had a lot more weight to fight to get it back down. My brother has an attak and it is a much better 60mph+ trail cruizer.

If your just flat trail riding and want to cruise def an apex, if your an aggressive rider and want the ability to stand up in the rider forward position and pound the bumps then nytro all the way.

I put anywhere from 2500-3500 miles on a yr on my nytro. usually doing 200 mile + rides most times we go out.
