Before I strart spinning my control rods I need some clarification. I want to add a little more ski pressure on my vector. The manual doesn't make it too clear about adding ski pressure, just increasing or decreasing weight transfer. Do I increase or decrease weight transfer to get more ski pressure? I would guess decrease but not sure. Thanks.

What do you think transfer is? Its transferring the weight OFF the skis and ONTO the track, therefore MORE ski pressure = LESS transfer = make the gap in the rod SMALL.

I actually dialed in more weight transfer. It helps to squeeze on the throttle rather than hammer it down along with an agressive carbide or simmons ski for cornering.

You could also pull up the limiter straps

transfer
I also have the rods adjusted for more transfer. Works out well all around since I compensated by adding aggressive carbides.

Re: transfer
Yo TMS, how many turns did you go on the control rods and how aggresive on the carbides, 6" or more?

rods
I have mine dialed may out to one line or 0 lines showing. Pretty close to max transfer. Torsion spring set on H position. I was using 6" Woody's carbides and 96 studs. I'm thinking about trying 8's now that I went to 144 studs. Haven't had it out since adding the extra 48.
Lots of folks won't agree with my rod setting, but it's personal prefference. I like the transfer.

twomorestrokes, Do you notice if your ride gets better the further out you adjust your control rods?

didn't notice
Sorry, I didn't notice. I've never tried it with the transfer dialed all the way out of it the other way. Supposedly, the ride gets softer the looser you set your rods. To be honest, after 5 years on a proaction SX chassis with not enough transfer, I'm enjoying this. I set the torsion spring to H because of bottoming out in the rough stuff. (I'm 220 w/o gear) I wondered if backing off on the transfer would have helped a little with the bottom out if I left it in the M position (???) but the ride is MUCH better than my previous chassis, even in the hard position.

I maxed mine out for as much transfer as I could get.
Yes it does make the suspension absorb more bumps because you are allowing your 2 spring/shocks to act more independantly. With out 8" carbides (I have Simmons skis with dual 6") you migt not get away with it.
Also when adjusted like mine it helps to squeeze on the throttle nearing the end of a corner VS. slamming it on.
