Controversy, stud or dont stud

I ran studs on most oif my sleds and last year I didn't stud my sled it was fine where there wa no ice.I pun my sled out on the ice and rolled it over and paid 900.00 out of my pocket I will never run without studs again for trail riding in wi.If I lived in the up or canada then I probaly would run without studs.

I was going to run only 96 1.325's this year, but I have changed my mind. I'm going to run 192 1.375 SS Fast Tracks with the bigger red backers. Like I said in another post, I should get a "LITTLE" bite with that set up.
I to, have slid because I didn't know there was ice in a curve, I was only doing about 80, but still slid.lol

I have had studs off and on since I started riding.
studs definitely make riding safer. my wife will allways have studs.
studs do not affect turning in snow
on ice studs may be forcing you more in a straight line BUT that is why you have the corect carbides.
The only down side to studding is weight and damage to garage floor & trailer deck.
I could go with or without studs but i believe they are safer.

You have to ask yourself, what is the down side to havings studs. There is none except a few mph on the top end. I have had responsible riders without studs ride with me. Short story about one guy, I call him studless. He when up a glare ice hill in the up and couldnt make it to the top. How do you think he felt comming down backwards at about 30 mph. He got lucky and didnt hit any one or anything. I KNOW FOR A FACT STUDS HAVE SAVED MY #*$&@ MANY TIMES, DEER, WOLF, OTHER DING DONG ETC...
