Certainly is interesting but the price will drive some away. $45 for the port and another $20-22 for the cable for a GPS. Then another one for a phone if it uses a different plug and you're nearing $100. I used a standard charger for my Garmin exposed to the elements for the past two seasons, still works. Cheap to replace it too.
