I want to add Water Wetter to the coolant but I can’t find the capacity of the cooling system to figure out how much to add. I checked the service manual but it doesn’t say how much it holds and I searched old threads but couldn’t really find anything on capacity.
Also, what temperature should the coolant be rated for? My tester goes to -45 F and it is going past that. I was wondering if I should dilute it a bit more.
The sled is new with only about 800 kms on it and when I rode it at the end of last season it was overheating a lot. I will add scratchers as well.

sounding like it might have pure antifreeze in there. it should be a 50/50 mix .

That’s what I’m thinking. I read that a few came from the factory with pure antifreeze. Looks like mine may have. Without knowing the total capacity I may have to drain it so I can mix it 50/50 and then add the water wetter.
The service manual isn’t any help. Instead of showing an amount in the specs it just says “Coolant - Liquid”.

I just replaced my heat exchanger in the tunnel, only took about 3/4's of a gallon to refill, think i saw that it took 1.25 gallons if empty,, put 50/50 in mine and it is new so should run hotter till broke in, but have put a few miles on rideing slow around my property and temp has stayed about 170's, saw 200 when sitting idle while cleaning brush out of trail, so pretty happy that it seems to be running cool after hearing they overheat quick.

SRX Specs in Sidewinder FAQs section say 5.5l, 5.81qts. I expect that is what you have. Last year Cannondale posted this info for all the current models but I'll be buggered if I can find it.

Thanks! I see it in the SRX specs now. I was looking in the FAQ thread.

Yamaha has always gone over kill on anti freeze.... plus -45F on the tester. I took out about 750 ml and added distilled water to get to read -40F & about 1/3 to half of a 355 ml water wetter is what I added .
