I also installed a set of Slidekicks scratchers on the skis. I'm just running regular Prestone antifreeze mixed 60-40, and my sled stays nice and cool even when running on hardpacked trails.
Scratchers are a much more economical fix than the MTX cooler, plus they also will greatly reduce slider wear. I wish I had put them on 2 yrs ago.

Old Thumper - how did you wire the fan? Is it easy to do? Do you have any pics showing which wire to wire in the manual switch with?
I've been wanting to do that for awhile now.
Yes good call on the scratchers![]()
Pull the airbox so you can get to the bank of relays. Find the fan relay (see Grizz's post in FAQ). I forget the wire colors, but just find the power wire coming from the fan fuse, and the wire going to the fan motor (easy to figure out with a meter) and just wire the switch parrallel to the relay. I also added an LED indicator light connected to the fan wire so I can see when the fan turns on, either by the switch or by the relay. Only thing you have to watch out for is that the fan power supply from the fuse box is not keyed - it's always hot. So when you have the bypass switch on it will still run when the sled is shut off. If you forget to shut it off, or accidentally bump the switch you could run down the battery. It's easy to hear the fan when the engine is off, so shouldn't be a big problem - just something to be aware of.

slidkicks are way to go...my 9 buddies on yammies are now putting slidekicks on ...after many new sliders...by the way my 9 buddies all rode yellow until this year....noticed at your favorite pitstop when you pull in all the new yammies...but when you go inside all are wearing skidoo suits...hmmm
