Anyone got a spec on the coolant temp sensor? I have an 06 Attack that has a low idle cold. Idles fine when warm. New exhaust gaskets and throttle bodies synce'd. Seems as though the ECU isn't seeing the cold engine condition.
I don't believe that has anything to do with idle. Just works as a to hot or to cold light. That valve that sits atop the throttle bodies known as the IAC (idle air control) is what adjusts the idle as the engine temp changes. It adjusts vacuum to throttle bodies base on coolant temp.
Here's the specs
5.2- 6.4 k ohms at 34 degrees
0.300-.364 k ohms at 176 degrees
0.170- 0.208 k ohms at 212 degrees
There has to be a way for the EFI computer to know engine temp to adjust injector duration. Also the IAC valve Is coolant temp controlled but I believe there is an ECU input/ouput also? Even though this EFI system is open loop there must be a coolant temp sensor.
Has anyone encountered a stuck IAC valve? I have on cars with high mileage but not a sled yet.
Thanks for the info on the sensor.
