Temperature Light/ Coolant Hot

I had the same issues in my 06 Attak. I diluted the coolant and have not overheated again. I have about 4000 miles on the sled since I diluted the coolant

Nice Rumle:

Just do a search with me as an author. It is actually on this pge right now & there are a lot of good tips, hopefully my mechanic pays attention to them this time as I printed off thetopic for him. "First trip out...."

Lift the back end up. Bolts are on the inside of the tunnel. I believe there are four. On the Attak anyway, I would think yours is the same.

I have overheated once this year and am interested in the rear cooler. Do you have to worry about studs hitting it or is that only on the Attak.

Thank you

I think as long as you use the bottom exchanger from Pioneer Performance you should be fine.

60/40 ratio of coolant to water should get you to how far below zero? Just so I know when adding water and using the tester this weekend.

That would be -53 Celsius which is approx. -63 F.. 50/50 is -37 C which is -34 F.. This is all according to the manufacturer's rating.

my 07' phazer over heated the same as my 06' attak until i got all the air out of the system and got the ant-freeze toa 50/50 mix with water wetter added, neither has over heated since

Here's a little tidbit of nothing. As I mentioned earlier, 50/50 is good for -34 F, -37 C according to the back of the ethylene glycol jug written by the manufacturer. I just put one cup pure antifreeze, and one cup water in a jug, mixed it good and tested it, and got a reading of -20 F, -29 C. So, if this holds true with all 10 dollar ethylene glycol testers, then, your antifreeze is always better than you think.

The Apex cooler (bottom one in the above picture) from Pioneer needs no stud protection. It is small enough and mounts where your studs have zero chance of hitting it.

Two more tidbits, although this may seem obvious to most, when you are diluting the coolant mixture make sure that you add distilled water rather than tap water.

Also if you add ethylene glycol make sure that it is silicate free like what is in the sled from the factory.
