I installed new donuts and one is still leaking a bit. It is the same pipe that had the most burnt donut. I took it apart again to see wtf. I searched the forums and found to file down the clamps, so I filed about an eighth inch off each one. I am trying to decide if I should put some high temp silicone on it, would that do anything or just make a mess?

had same problem, try copper grade high temp silicone. worked for me, made by permatex, picked up at auto zone.

No sealant will last on the exhaust donuts. There is a problem that needs to be corrected. It could be a cracked flange, bad clamp or the copper donuts wasn't machined correctly. You need to properly determine what the problem is an correct it. It's important to get them sealed especially with the gas tank directly above that area.

You are so right. In my previous attempt to install new donuts, I never completly removed the exhaust. I wanted a closer look, this is what I found. Hopefully my welder buddy can fix it. I can see me burning this thing full of holes if I tried it myself. I think my donuts were burnt for probablly 1000 miles. Maybe should have attended to it a little earlier. Thanks Grizz.

Dont buy that piece of sh-t exhaust... its JUNK. Just get yours welded up, and you'll be good to go.

I got my hanger welded back on. It seems I need to remove the flexpipes to install all this now? If they turned the unuts around the other way there wouldnt be this issue. Sheesh...

It's easier to drill out the rivets that hold the header pipe hanger on ...there's like 10 rivets I think
