Is there a copper washer any where besides the oil drain on the bottom of the motor? Changed oil and chaincase fluid and found a washer in the bottom of the waste oil.

I put the copper washer on the bottom drain so, it would have to be the chaincase, oil reservoir, or an extra from some other project. Hopefully the latter!!

There is one on the chaincase drain inside the tunnel behind the chaincase. There is also one on the oil sump drain.

should be 1 on the engine drain, the oil tank drain and the chaincase drain plugs,3 in total

Thanks. Looks like I missed the one for the resovoir.
I hope it doesn't leak much ?! I will keep an eye on it.

170+, how are the trails in the county?

If you don't have the one on the oil tank it will leak under pressure. Just unscrew the bolt put your finger over the hole, put the copper washer on the bolt and reinstall. Should only lose a a touch of oil, much less than you will with out the washer. Besides you shuld have some oil left over from the change anyway.

Is it the small one on the long 5mm bolt next to the oil filter????????????????MM.

Don't think I removed that bolt, just the filter in that area under the battery. Need to pull it off the trailer and check the oil tank.
Can't believe I missed this washer during the oil change :drink:

The one I'm talking about is on the drivers side infront of the filter.. Should drain it every time... Not much in there.. MM.
