Extra washer???? help

Mine has a brass washer on the engine bolt and compression steel washer on the tank... I have never seen a plastic washer on an oil tank drain on a Yamaha.

Does anyone else have plastic washers on the oil tank drain?

Mine has brass washers on both....in fact, I ordered new washers from yami, and they are both brass. So I think you found your answer. Somebody dropped the brass washer at some point, could not find it, and replaced it with a plastic washer. Problem solved.

My rx1's have brass or could be copper washers on both as well.
