Interviewed Corey a few minutes ago, Stihl web guys should post the new stuff asap... good in depth info!

Any questions ? I will try to answer
For now keep checking stilhusa.com to see the latest on Corey and his Apex RTX race sleds.

Well, how did Corey do. Can't find any info anywhere. If this thing is to take off the info needs to get out there.

Corey had a mechanical failure that inhibited him from finishing the race.

sorry that the web page is taking so long, normally it is no more than 24 hrs. Sure enough the one time I post here before it is up, it takes three days!

teaser...Corey has already gotten to the point were the mono skid is working very well for him, he also says that he has feels he can win again on the Stocker.

keep checking the site!

Why is Cory using the RTX suspension from the 07 and not the mono for racing. Is the mono not capable of terrain racing.

Corey is using the stock monoshock rear suspension in his Stock class racer. His Open class racer has a modified torsion spring style rear skid.

But, why change just for a different class. The torsion spring must be superior in the bumps or he would still be using the mono?

The mono suspension is not anywhere near as durable as the torsion spring suspensions and it's harder to beef it up to the required strength for this type of racing.

The mono is a good trail suspension that produces a very good ride, an excellent holeshot, and is lightweight - but it's just not as well suited to extreme pounding and air.

Next season the RTX will have a very durable Pro Active CK based suspension and will be the ticket for stock class racing.

It is important to remember that the stock sleds must be STOCK for 06'.
the Pro Open sleds can have modified parts, the cool thing here is that they are learning from both the mod or open sled and the stocker.

don't get confused between pro open and pro stock they all run the the stock sleds in the XC 500.
