I have a 07 phazer mountain Lite and was wondering which of the above mentioned belts is correct for the phazer. I'm currently running the 8GS only one failure which happened at 2000 km. I haven't had any problems with it but the dealer said the 8GK was the belt for the phazer.

The Yamaha fiche lists the 8GK-17641-10-00 belt for 2007 and 8GS-17641-00-00 for 2008.

I have a 07 Venture Lite.
Original belt is a 8GS-17641-00-00.
Bought a new belt last week and was given a 8GK-17641-10-00.
Both belts appear to be the same, width and lengthwise. Yamaha must have changed up the numbers for some reason.

Well I got my question answered.
I had my sled in today to get the cold start and steering updates done and they also did the shim for the reverse and replaced my old belt the 8GS with the new 8GK. They told me it was a bit different but never said how.
