A few weeks back I did some much needed upgrades on my 06 RS Venture.
First I purchased ROX handlebar risers, (Part No. 1R-P2SSN) I gained an extra 2" in height. The great thing about these risers are that the factory wiring, throttle & choke cables are at perfect lengths for a seemless install. This upgrade was important to me because I found on sharp turns along the trails the handlebars were slightly hitting my knees.
I also installed the medium height windshield, didn't like the tall.

I put on a 2" pivot also but I tilted back towards me to bring the bars closer. I have a bad shoulder and I find the bars too far to reach comfortably.
I had to tilt mine back just a little too, I found after some time, especially going through the windy woods trails my thumb throttle position was annoying me, my fix was tilting handlebars back. I was going to adjust thumb throttle but figured the bars would be easier first.

Oldguy2.... I too am an old guy. Bad shoulders among other things. I just started riding 3 years ago. Found a near perfect 1997 Venture 600. Love the sport but needed easier steering to keep up with my sons/nephews. This year I am on a 2012 Vector LTX. I gotta say. EPS ROCKS. I really got an eye opener when I switched back to the old sled. When and if we get some more snow I will be ready for 200 mile days.

My wife wanted me to wait and buy a Venture GT with EPS but we got an awsome deal on this '10 with only 98 km. Have you had any issues with the EPS?

oldguy2... no issues with EPS. I love it. Must say however only 208 miles (334 km?) so far. Before the first ride I put Bergstrom Triples, Ski Savers and Shims on the stock skis. There have been some posts on TY about extreme cold causing EPS to not work. I expect I will not encounter weather that cold.

Mike, what are your thoughts on the Bergstrom triples? you get 6" or 8"?

Petron, I got 6" on Scott Bergstrom's recommendation. The Ski Savers are the thicker of the two.( I don't recall the dimension) So far I feel that is the correct choice for me. My 2 days of riding this year have been around the Madison, WI area. The trails in Northern WI and U.P. may change my mind. As of now, I am sold on the 6" choice. I will keep the track stock.Petron said:Mike, what are your thoughts on the Bergstrom triples? you get 6" or 8"?

Hi rocky18. When you put on your ski savers, did you just loosly snug the bolts on your tripple point carbides or did you fully tighten them? I fully tightened mine and that caused my ski savers to warp into the groove that was meant to hold the carbide runners so I essentially ruined mine. Thinking about ordering another set of ski savers and trying again.

Sorry about not getting back until now. As I recall, I only "snugged" the nuts on the triple carbides. I am not sure, but I seem to recall a "spacer" that fit into a portion of the stock ski. I will check that tomorrow and get back with that. Hope that bit of info helps.
