Well, getting pretty frustrated with waiting for rideable snow in SE Wis., so trailered north for some riding in Oneida and Vilas counties in N. Wisconsin.
Beautiful! Put on 117 miles today (several stops), max. temp was around 34 so it got soft towards the end, but the morning riding was gorgeous. Plenty of loose pack, lots of people out, a great day of riding and (sadly), the first day on the 4-stroke Phazer in 2014.
Shots are of Bearskin Trail heading N. out of Tomahawk, WI towards Minocqua; and Lake Minocqua.

I'll just tell you what I know rather than speculating on conditions east of where I rode... I headed from SE WIS straight north, so Hwy. 39/51. I would have MAYBE started riding north of Wausau, but it really started becoming noticeably deeper maybe 30 miles S. of Tomahawk. It's depressing for us denizens of Southern Wisconsin, but that's the reality. For now, only the far north has the really good stuff.
