Cracked SIMONS CPR exhaust header

Dave
I have clutched your turbo set up with-out a downpipe & ported wastegate(1 of your 1st kits) & will compare it to my newest project(1 of your later kits) with ported wastegate & double downpipe. I expect I will need a lot more aggressive clutching to hit target rpm,s. I am also expecting to never have to replace or fix a header.

Go with Dave from Powderlites, I had to replace my 1st cpr header with less than 250miles on it, dealer got another one from jeff, it wasnt any better. Phoned up Dave, this one has been good, but need to get his double down pipe thou. @ least he is on the forum & website is still up & running.

has any one cracked a cpr header on a drag sled only? is it trail sleds and mountain sleds only? what is the cause? bad quality, heat cycles or trail pounding. i have a drag sled from day 1 with 400 miles 660ft at a time with no problems yet.

Dave you always took everything in and to heart, Thats what makes POWDER LITES # 1 in my book. guys I have a new header by PowderLites sitting here, email me if interested winter is closing in quickly.

This should be interesting, although I think you already know what's going to be required. How's your stock on tungsten washers these days?

I have a Powderlites replacement header on my Rx1 and it has lasted very well. Added the divorced double down and ported wastegate at the end of last season and got 2 rides in in the spring but I couldn't really determine what my clutching will need to be. One thing I can say for sure though is the throttle response is much improved and it pulls like crazy. I'm pretty sure I'll need to add weight this season. If Dave does the new design stage 2 header that is where you want to be no question about it.

Rx1M5

As Dave mentioned a bit earlier in this thread, we're seeing on average 3g PER clutch weight being required when installing the header/DD & porting the wastegate for customers. I've worked with just about every header (mfr & version) out there, and the stuff Dave's selling today is hands down the best available.

Man Jim, and you talked me into the cpr solution!!!! But then again I had the same issues with the Powderlite RX1 kit too. I'll believe it when I see or try one myself. Hope the fixed header lasts a little longer than the first time.

You say that like it's a bad thing??! Nothing wrong with the performance of a CPR kit, and at it is still the only (front mount) option if you want to keep the stock headlights & gauge cluster location. Now, if Dave & I can move forward on some of the conversations we've been having....

You've got some bad juju when it comes to headers; I really hope you don't have any issues this winter either. :flag:

Performance is fine Jim, just hope that I don't have to take it off and repair or replace it after 500kms. I was suppose to call you wasn't I? I'm very busy these days. Later...
