Cubby,
Your polishing fetish is rubbing off.....it's that jealousy thing..
I know you have probably already told everybody the answer to this but I did a search and couldn't find it....
What have you done with the back bar (I don't know what the bar is called but it's the one on the back of the sled). I tried polishing the bar but that really does not do much. Did you use sandpaper on it to start the process or did you chrome?
Thanks much.
Dan

Well,,,,,,,Dan, I sanded it then polished it. however every ride it seems as if i should chrome it because the salt spray gets on that rear bar and leaves marks that again have to be sanded (1500 to 2000 grit) and re- polished.---------Cubby

Hey cubby- what do you recommend for polishing the tunnel on my Vector? Does it have a coating of some kind on it from the factory? I've waxed it but it didn't do much. Years ago I remember a product that looked like a wad of dirty cotton candy that worked good on non-coated alum. Can't recall it's name. Thanks. MM.

Yo, MadMax, The tunnel should be raw aluminum and the stuff you are refferring to is either Mothers, Extreem, Nevr Dull or some other metal polishing product that comes in a cotton wad that works pretty well with some elbow grease to make your tunnel shine............Cubby

Hey you guys, I used to spend hours polishing with never dull and the other stuff. I got changed over to a new easy product called California Custom. You need one bottle of deoxidizer and one bottle of chrome polish. About 30 bucks for it all. Spend about 10 minutes on each side of the tunnel and you can see the lines in your teeth. Mirror like finish. Do the same thing on the rear bar and it will look like chrome. The website is californiacustom.com. Good luck.

Thanks. Never heard of that product. How long does the shine last under "NORMAL" conditions? :ORC MM.

Just as long as the other products, it is awesome stuff. I usually use honda polish for a week then hit it with the california custom chrome polish. Thats if i am riding everyday to keep brake dust and belt dust and dirt off the tunnel.
