For the boost addict there will never be too much boost or power. At some point the current powerlevel stops giving thrills and you get used to the power. Controlling it is no longer frightening nor difficult, then we need more power to get the adrenaline back, I guess, anyway that's what happens to me. Then I head on with another upgrade to my mod sledLOL
I am plenty addicted, I just love grinning ear to ear when I get done handing my buddy his arss on his 05 Mach Z, and the other guy's Rev 800's and then pulling into the gas station and taking less gas then both of them. I would love to have more boost and I do have the pullies for 10 pounds at 230hp, but then I would have to run 50/50 race fuel. I can't get that in the U.P. OF Michigan so I choose to be safe and run just the premium by itself at 200hp and lovin every minute of it......

Those darn forest rats... I think I've had a close call or two with a few trees that started to jump out at me.
Besides the Old Forge police department kindy pointed out the speed limit to me last year, as the cop was jumping out in front of me waving his arms on Big Moose Road... Ah, a target!

We flatlanders certainly have mental issues.
Once you ride 200HP, then you want 225, then 250. Then the turbo changes to get 280, then turn her up to 300 then we're all calling, Ted, Jim and Hurricane. 300 is bare minimum!!

And now I'm finally there, my next call will be to one of them named above, luckily I have a lot to go on running the GT2860RS at 300 HP. I know I will want more by the end of the season. So I guess the upgrade work starts next summer, gotta adjust lobe centers, install meth-injection and turn up the boost again.
I started out with the rearmount MCx at 10 lbs, then 14 lbs by the end of the first season, the up to 16 lbs half way into second season, ran it at 18 lbs (300+ HP) briefly on racegas and knew instantly what I wanted, more power!!! So here I'm, upgrading to complete new system to run 300+ permanently with a permagrin that sometimes needs upgrades to stay on

I ride the mountains in nevada not alot of trees, 10,000 ft. and steep I need all the power I can get to climb some of the stuff we have, two stages of nitrous, meth injection and Impulse race kit capable of 25+ lbs should work this year. of course then you have the shoot outs thats where you need the nitrous. if there is somebody faster then you always need more, its all about the competition. and I can not run under 18 lbs. boost it is just plan boring now.

Well let me tell you I'm coming off and 05 mach-z that was quit fast.136mph. but if you want to be really fast you need HP and lots of it.
Thats why I've sold the engine out of that 05 mach-z and am currently installing a 1000cc apex engine with a few of hurricans twists.
This year should be good for 300hp and through the summer I'll have it done over and then we'll see 450+.
that will make it the fastest trail mach-z on the planet.
Got to love boost.
And just so you know .NO I'm not going to drive it on the trail with 450hp but it's nice to know you could dial it up for those impromto lake races if needed.

~200 is fine for a mtn 4 stroke.
thats about where mine ends up at elevation.
i was never much into "climbing" but am enjoying it more and more now that I have a sled that can do it.
and actually, pulling more technical lines w/ the boosted yammy over my BB'd Rev.
the ability to let off and grab a hand full mid climb makes a huge difference.
learning to use it does take some time, unlike a 2s, your not holding onto a fist full of throttle all the time. spool the turbo, try to stay away from doing the 'full on' 'full off' throttle chops that you might have done w/ a 2 stroke.
i find theres a lot more to "throttle control" with a turbo.
even for playing in the meadows and carving, you will not be carving or doing donuts at FULL throttle anymore, well, unless its super deep. hehe
man, i need to ride.
