I took my 2012 Vector out for the first time yesterday in about 14" of fresh fluff. I got stuck on a hill and gave it a little too much gas with the track stuck. I am pretty sure I burned a divot into my belt since I feel a bump in the drivetrain that cycles through until about 10 mph, where it seems to disappear. I did this to my Apex once and it got worse with more RPMs. My buddy rode it and he says he doesn't feel anything. I know its there and its going to drive me crazy!!
Questions:
1.) Will it slowly fade away as the belt wears in?
2.) Will riding it with this groove in the belt cause any damage?
I really don't want to replace a belt that has less than 10 miles on it!

It's pretty much a spare now you"ll feel that notch from here on out! I've done it by leaving the parking brake on myself! Duh!

But...will using that belt cause any damage from excess vibration or anything?

I only feel the pulsing up to 10 mph or so. Then it disappears. However, I do feel some vibration in the footwells but being a brand new sled I have no idea if this is a trait of the sled, a result of the conditions I was riding in, etc.
I will just switch belts and see how it feels with another belt I have before determining that I need a new belt.

Any one I ever burnt like that vibrated like crazy up towards 80 mph.
Good enough for a backwoods fishing trip where you may get stuck and ruin another new belt but not much good for hiting the trails

I ended up buying a new belt.
My dealer felt sorry for me after hearing my story and gave it to me for $50.
