My heated shield wire shorted. It was wired direct to the battery with no inline fuse. Now nothing works. Did I blow a fuse somewhere or did I fry the ECU?

That reminds me. I better put an inline fuse on mine. I wired mine the same.
Kill switch was depressed, started when I got home. Could have sworn I checked it multiple times. Maybe I had hypothermia, was very cold today. I honestly cannot remember if I checked it or not.
Does the dash ever shut down on its own, overheat or any other reason?
I overheated right before this happened.

Probably your stator got so hot trying to feed a shorted battery, it warmed her up pretty good?
What should I check after overheating? I am not sure how long the temp light was on.

I would do a coolant pressure test.
You thinking maybe I warped the head? I assume the oil would also look milky.

Beyond the overheating issues, which if you were running in conditions that could have made it overheat, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of it not actually overheating but if the short was causing something in the wiring to display it.
If it was overheated, check the oil for signs of coolant and the coolant for signs of oil. Either will look like a frothy chocolate milk. oil in the coolant isn't as bad on everything else, but coolant in the oil will ruin the bearing surfaces inside the engine.
As far as electrical, the system is fairly robust, but if it is dead, I'd start with the battery itself and have it tested. then move to the starter relay, since that is what ultimately powers everything else up.
The 4 relays in the nose include one for the fuel pump and ecu, and you could try swapping those around to see if that makes any change. They're not all 4 the same, but you'll figure that out easy enough.
There's also a small fuse block on the chassis near the reverse lever. Check each of those as well.

Thanks. It was -10f blowing and plenty of snow dust. I did have some ice buildup in front of the heat exchanger. First thing I checked was for loss of coolant and damage to exchanger. And ice, which is what I expected to find.
I don't think the light was on long. No coolant loss.
Going to mess with it tomorrow.

So 85 miles today and it was an avg of 32f. No issues. No coolant loss , overheat etc.
The cold must have gotten to me last weekend. Can't believe I towed a perfectly good sled.
Off topic but.....what do you guys think about running DuPont slides with the stock xtx track clipped every 3rd row? Dealer said no problem run them.
