2017 Yamaha sr viper Xtx we
so I bought an brand new 2017 sr viper xtx left over. Took it to the u.p this weekend got some good riding in about 20 miles left in the trip the snowmobile back fired twice and died. I could smell something burning like burnt plastic. It smells like something electrical fried. Turn the key the dash lights up but get no power to start it. It only has 800 miles on it. Just barley broke in. Got to drop it off to the dealer for a warranty claim. Has anyone else had this problem.

Sorry for your inconvenience man, don't give up on her, should be a great sled once dealer fixes it, can't say I've ever heard that happen to anyone before.

I love the sled and I would never give up on her thank god for the warranty she will be back up in action in no time. I was just wondering if anyone had ever herd of this happing

Hopefully it's just a blown fuse or something simple.

I had similar issues this weekend with it backfiring when coming to a stop after a decent acceleration pull, but no issues of sled not restarting or shutting down randomly. Hopefully your dealer gets her back up and running. That's what warranty is for. I plan on purchasing the extended warranty from Port Yamaha this spring.
