Dealer called me Friday and says my sled is showing up in the system and should be here in 8-10 days, Red Rtx Se. Bad news is I stepped in a hole deer hunting and screwed up my knee last weekend. Dr thinks I tore my meniscus, it's weak and tries to go out on me periodically. I have a MRI scheduled for Monday so they can have a look and tell me my options. Debating whether I even want to accept delivery or not . Does me no good to buy it only to be able to stare at it for the next 12 months. Anyone ever torn their meniscus and how long were you layed up? Dr says my options are anything from a cortisone injection to surgery depending on the severity of the thing, hoping the hell it's not surgery.

is it a red XTX by any chance?

Whimp I have a buddy that rides with a fake leg, which he lost on the trail to Greenland 3 yrs ago. That freaked everyone out!

Meniscus is merely a flesh wound!

October 2012 I tore my meniscus and had a small tear in the mcl, I rode the whole winter on that and had surgery in may of this year, if you can take the pain wait till spring for surgery, or if you have to do it now, recovery time is only 6 weeks for a meniscus, either way, good luck to you, and I would still take delivery on the sled.

Almond, my work is seasonal (road construction) so I need to fix it now if it needs it. To be honest it's more stiff than sore and it feels like it is going to go out on me if I step wrong. Not really in allot of pain but am having some trust issues with it at the moment. Encouraged to hear the 6 weeks. They put me in a brace on Friday which has really helped. If there was snow now I could ride with the brace on I am pretty sure. Just don't want to screw it up more. I will know more Monday.

Two years ago my buddy broke in ankle , we took a liner out of and old boot and duct taped it on every time we rode , it's not what you have but if you are willing there's away .
But on a side note you been thinking about not getting it for over a month now so this maybe your way out if that's what you want .

No I want the sled no question, I just wanted it a month ago! All these damn dyno videos have got me pretty stoked about it at the moment. Love the sound of it! Just not sure it makes sense at the moment with what is going on. My Nytro is gone, need to do something whether this year or next is the question. Will know more Monday, hoping for the cortisone route, we will see.

Tore my meniscus, but didn't realize it at the time. Knee was stiff and sore for about a year before I seen a doc.
I kept hoping my knee would get better by itself. Never did. Wore a knee brace through out the year.

Surgery went quick. I was pretty much normal in three weeks. I guess it depends on how bad the tear is and what shape you are in.

I work out religiously three days a week. My recovery was quick.

I guy I work with had the same surgery. He is way out of shape. Never exercises.

Took him six months to recover.

On August 27th of 2012 I tore my meniscus. Thought it would get better on its own but after 2 months I went to the Dr. and had to have more than 50% removed in surgery. After 4 weeks of PT I was back to normal. Rode last season with no problems and the surgery was 100% worth it. The pain was gone after the 1st week post-op!

1st week in Nov. of 2002, I had a new RX1 setting in the garage while I laid in bed with left knee that had just been repaired. Torn my meniscus twisting under a car. 10 days after surgery, I was back to work, and rode my new sled a couple of time in the yard before spending a week over New Years in the U.P. You should do just fine and use it or you will loose it.

WOW rx1 mtn you joined here 1 day after me in 2003. I also spent the week between Christmas and new years in da Yooper stayed in houghton did over 1000 miles that week it was awesome - Hated the RX when the week started but by the end had it as dialed in as you could and after as many mods short of turbo on that one fell in love with the sled. Even after blowing the motor I ressurected it with a stroked Apex motor.

Sorry to hear about the knee. The good news is if it is a tear to only the meniscus it is usually arthroscopic surgery and the recovery time is very short. Matter of weeks. It the type of surgery that pro athletes are only out for a few weeks. Do your rehab religiously! Good luck!

Looks like we were all peeps back than,i was on one day ahead of you yamadog, kinda cool to look at old dates, now.

Cleaned that up for you DeerHunter. I had one done a while back. Hurt like hell day of operation but recovery was very quick and they encouraged me to walk as much as possible. I did and took slow rides on the quad to limber it up after a idiot rehab guy went way to far the second time there. Never went back to rehab again. Took about 3 weeks of the riding slow and I swear overnight my knee felt better than when I was 16 years old! Get it done and ride that Viper at your own pace. Enjoy the scenery and buy some exlax to take with the Vicadin! Other knee went out after a crash. Same doc gave me choice of MRI or going right in. Cost is same. After reviewing the MRI he said it would heal on its own and ordered therapy which once again I refused. Started back on my riding therapy and once again it turned out great! Just be careful but if there is no stitching involved other than the little holes the pain is really all you have to worry about. Do not tell your doctor if you do this. Hide the pain from family and ride alone at first so no one pushes you. Just my advice and I am no doctor but I do care and would not tell you to do something I wouldnt do myself. Get it done if needed or if not ride through the pain. Good Luck!
