I don't know how long it would take but I'd try to make them give you a demo or rental sled while they fix it. That will give you something to ride and give them incentive to get it back to you to test it before the snow melts
I tried they refused

I am pretty sure that they would win in court later as you will have to sign papers that you are asking them to do the work at the pre agreed on price. Again, it sucks but I think they are going out of their way to make good for you. Just the way I look at it and I have been screwed over many times by many dealers over the years. What was your relationship with them before because if you try and sue them then it will be over and you may need them at a future date. Something to think about.

Yeah they could just tell me off and laugh at me. But I don't think they want my bad review or for me to protest in front of there business lol . I don't need them this is the last straw . I have towed my sled out of the Bush 5 times all of those were the day I picked it up from kelowna yamaha . And when I dropped it off it was perfectly fine. I'll be going to alpine motor sports in Vernon this is the last penny they will see from me .
They are meeting me half way basically for there total neglegence . But it seems that's as good as it gets . I am in for about 2500 on this oil change. I don't consider that doing there best to make it right. But it's all it looks like I'll get .

Sucks but pay the $1500, then find a real Dealer. They are not all bad.

I would be there inspecting every part they take out and put into that motor. At the end I'd want a itemized list of parts and a warranty guarantee on it. What goods a rebuilt motor if they don't know what they're doing anyways. Sounds like you're getting the short end of the stick no mater what you do. Unfortunate but sounds like there's only one way out. As soon as you get lawyers involved no one wins. Even if you don't bring a lawyer you can sure bet they will.

Sorry to hear your plight, but why in the hell would you trust these clowns to now rebuild your motor when it'sobvious they can't even do an oil change right. Tell them you want there portion of the money they were forking up and run as fast as you can from that dealer. You don't have to be rich or that mechanically inclined to get an oil change done on these machines, just don't be lazy. Learn from this move on and do not, I repeat do not ever let someone else change the oil for you again, its far too easy to do.

dealers not going to just give him the money, no way. let them fix it so that if something happens again they'll have to fix it again. mistake was made and it more then likely was a young kid doing the oil change and not the mechanic. the mechanic should have doubled checked his work and that's why they are fixing it. I'd give them a chance to make it right and I'd pay the $1500 but i'd get a warranty in writing. you are running boost and that is hard on the internals so now you'll have a brand new motor with warranty.
good luck and let us know how you make out

This is why I do all my own maintenance. That way i know it gets down right the first time. Dealers are out to get people. My brother was having an electric problem and could find the issue so he brought it in. They replaces damn near everything electrical on the sled except the computer. Then the dealer told him they have to put his sled off the side for awhile to assemble the new sleds coming it. When I heard that it just pissed me off. When they set his sled to the side which was outside. They never put the plugs back in it. Who knows what could have gotten down there. I told him to take his sled back and don't pay for a damn thing. They were not happy and neither was my brother.

Get them to put some heavier rods in it for the rebuild or else turn down the boost. I know of a couple cases where all stock internals did not handle 270 HP for very long.

No one touches my sled but me! This website can tell you everything you need to know about everything Yamaha. My sled has NEVER been to a dealer. I've been riding and working on my own sleds since 1980. I had no clue about 4 strokes when I bought my Apex. Because I'm poor, I learned. My baby has 10277 miles on her now and runs mint. I have a laundry list of thing I've done to it. Don't be afraid to DIY. You'll save thousands. I'm sorry about your experience. That sucks. If it's any consolation, my riding area is tug hill ny, and there is no snow anywhere near me.

I do my own maintenance on my 3 sleds as well but some folks are not as lucky as some of us because they're either not able too, too busy with life / job or are not equiped to do so.
I have been riding sleds since 1962, I bought my own new sled in 1972, and have owned multiple new and used sleds ever since. The only time I have ever had one of my sleds at a dealer for maintenance was my 1979 SRX for a flywheel mod in 1979...once...that's it!
IMO...You have to enjoy doing your own work and have the proper tools and facilities to work in. Doing your own maintenance is not for everyone.
But...it works for me.
