tough to tell for sure, but ive looked at dozens of pics, and seems it should be easy to come down from above with a 14mm open end,and unlock the locknut....then finger tighen adjuster, and lock the nut.
if worse comes to worse, remove the shroud but i doubt that would be needed....time will tell.

I you indeed can't get to it from the top removing the shroud is no big deal, Loosen three clamp's rotate the shroud till it unlocks and it is off. kviper

I just got the install instruction's out that i printed off of there website and took a closer look. Photo 31 on page 26 gives a good view and it looks like it can be done from the top but as i said earlier removing the shroud is no big deal. kviper

I think this is THE ticket to keep the Apex in production. Yamaha should do this right from the factory and cover it under warranty. Great looking system, very simple, and gives those big Cats a run for their money! I'd buy one in a minute! Wig

I am assuming that Yamaha would have to purchase the rights to this from G-Force but I agree that they should offer this from the factory.
It will take something like this to get me to trade in my Apex for a new one.

The thing I like about it is that it doesn't seem to affect the normal trail manners of the sled (the Apex is already wild enough), but it gives that little extra shot at the high end - the best of both worlds. I would think it does wonders for dependability as well as the sled isn't under constant boost when clipping along. YAMAHA - LISTEN UP! THIS IS WHAT YOUR BUYERS WANT!! I love my Nytro, and although it is a ball to ride it just isn't a long distance rider. The Apex is the trail cruiser you can ride all day and not be dead tired. Hope this is pursued, I would love to see an Apex with a little more kick at the top - just like it really needs it - but it will keep this sled competitive for many years into the future. Wig

It won't help the low to mid any...or mid to high?

Hey Capt: That was my point - the Apex really doesn't need any help at the low to midrange - all you're gonna do is chew more snow. The mid to high end is where this setup helps, so when you do blast across the lake, you have a little bit more on the top end. I think it is the 'freshen-up' combination that will make the Apex continue on for awhile. It's a great sled and I hate to see them drop it. And only 5 or 6 lbs? Cripes, I'll gain 5 or 6 lbs before the end of winter anyway, what's the difference? Great add-on as far as I'm concerned, from the perspective of a 54 year old Apex rider. Wig

I'm in as long as it gives a bigger hit when I'm doing 70 and pin it...you're right its decent on the bottom as it is.
I finally studded mine(144c) and I now wish I had done it sooner.
