My 08 nytro and 07 phazer have been at the dealers for the last 5 weeks waiting for the warranty work with the front ends etc. I have been away in the uk for 2 weeks so when coming back i call them expecting the sleds to be finished. Surprise surprise sleds still in unfinished state. MMmm these parts take a long time to come as they told me that they were on there way before i left :o| The dealer is now trying to convince me to wait until september or so in case yamaha has a true upgrade available instead of fitting parts like the ball joints which will fail like the originals. Dont know what to think? what would you guys do?

Let the dealer keep them, if he can get you an upgraded front end under warranty you both win. Plus you get free storage for the summer! ;-)

Well storage is the key here. He wants the room ,wants me to pick my sleds up unfixed! This is what i am feeling a little unsure about. Surely if he replaces the current parts with new, even if yam does bring out an upgrade would that mean that i do not then qualify?

What dealer are you using? I personally would slide your sleds right back into your trailer (covered as seen in your avatar) and stoe them at home, where no one can bang into them, scratch, ding or overwise inconvience you later. I would make the appointment fr September and take them in then. I bet you will happier knowing they are at home, and that in September you will get the most current fix.

Don't expect any update kit for the 08 at all, get it fixed now, then bring it home and store it yourself. There will be no update kit.

Thats good to hear my wife says exactly the same get it done now while they are there.

I had my front end done under warranty within 4 days of taking it in with only one ride left in the season at that time but my dealer suggested I do it instead of waiting and if any update did come out to bring it back and they would look after it.....

your dealer is playing games...get it fixed!!!

if it has taken 5 weeks, I would also send a note to Yamaha complaining about the parts and asking them to look into it!!!

Im dropping mine off in June for the same fixes + exhaust noises. The dealer can store it for me as long as he wants

If your dealer wants them out of there, tell him to get to work!
