The belt cover is riveted, 3 bolts, 1 screw, and 2 rivets. It can be pulled up a bit if the bolts are removed but it stays attached.

So, has anyone had trouble with their fit and finish of the viper they picked up? A couple of things that I have notice with mine is on the left side up where the black plastic from the gauge pod hooks into the hood, the tap will not stay in! Then the right side panel, there is about an inch gap between the side panel and black plastic molding above the top a-arm. Just curious if anyone else has noticed that.
No trouble but as mentioned its not on par with previous Yamaha models but time will tell if that matters or not.

I guess I don't really see any of these as issues...Looking at the XF7000 Limited in my garage, I don't know why you would need to take the belt guard off...especially on a viper. The chain tensioner isn't really an "issue" if you ask me...I only check the tension once a year and just like changing oil on an Apex, it's a pain in the #*$&@ but not an issue...just a little bit of a pain. As far as the damage...that should be taken care of ASAP by Yamaha and your dealer...not a chronic issue just needs to be fixed, which it will under warranty. The tape job on a lot of the wiring isn't an issue either...just piss poor looking. I've never liked Arctic Cat's fit and finish...hands down the worst in the industry but they make some fast sleds with a chassis that is hands down 10 years ahead of the Nytro or Apex. You guys have to learn to take some of the good with the bad. This Viper is gonna be a bad #*$&@ ride...if you want something to look pretty in your shop, the Nytro or the Apex will definitely kick the Viper's #*$&@ but neither of those sleds will touch on the technical trails of the Midwest or the Mountains out west. What is an issue is I don't even have my damn sled to even look at!!!!! November 28th tomorrow and I haven't got a clue where the hell it even is!!! ![Die :die :die](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/die.gif)

Why don't we all get ours first, ride them 2nd then this spring we will meet back here with 1000's of mile under our belts and then we can complain with merit................... if there is any.
Century Powersports in Stillwater MN has 2 Vipers on the floor (1 Blue/White 137 and 1 Red/Black 129). Asking $11,900 OTD. They don't have any snowchecks ... and only one Cat XF 7000 cross tour, which is not for sale (district manager's sled). Salesman didn't seem willing to negotiate on anything, and they did not get any accessories, but thought that they might be getting some windshields.

Wow what ever happened to the days when they forced to take so many sleds based on volume I know a couple dealers that got out of it cause they always had roll over inventory
