WTF Yammie dealers of Central NY!?

Sled is apart and all I need is 4 plastic OEM bushings @ $1.46 each to put it back together, 6 dealerships within 61.4 miles of me can ORDER them and 3 said "maybe have in 5 days with the holidays coming up" :o|
The smartest dealer was gonna order some & add to his inventory, "just to have for the next guy" if I found 'em elsewhere...

Now if I wanted a $600 Yamaha riding suit or needed that new $1K pipe it'd be right on the shelf for sure. Total bullsheet!!!!!!!!!!

Going riding 1 way or another, fugg it ;)!

-Rant over, steam clearing from the noggin.... carry on good people of TY

it's the rule of retailing - you can have $5 million in inventory and 3 out of 5 that come in want something you don't stock (because you probably have never sold one).

Do they carry more than one brand? If so shelves are probably all full of arctic cat parts....lol.

Try Bruce at pioneer performance, aftermarket Yamaha performance shops usually stock bushings, springs, weights, gears more so than regular dealers and he is site sponsor

Pioneer is closed on Wednesday. Good thing tomorrow is Thursday. What bushings are you looking for? You could try bob weaver and don George's also. Or I might have what you need.

I needed rivets for the clutch. Out of three local yamaha dealers one place had 3 (I needed 9) At $1.25 a piece they should have a bunch in stock.

You guys need to fiquire out whats going to go bad for your next ride and order them so you have them. Do that for a season or two and you will be just like the dealers. Lots of stuff on hand and nothing you need. Do you really think a dealer wants to tell you they dont have a part that they know they can sell? How often does anybody need 9 rivets for a yamaha clutch? Its not the 1.25 its self space and guessing what most people want.

This is when you call guys like me for parts! ;)!

If the new sleds weren't 14k I'd consider going after a local dealership!

Local dealer went so far as to eliminate his inventory! Did not even carry belts or sliders! He'd order them for you the same day if you paid the shipping, otherwise he ordered every tue! Unless he did not have a big enough order then he would wait till next tue. Now thats a dealer that just does not care! Most dealers stock items that are asked for alot! They can't stock everything but a good dealer will do his best to keep you happy and on the trail.

Local dealer sold Cats and Yamahas! So I started ordering from Browns in Yorkton for Cat parts and another out of town Yami dealer that got their parts from Winnipeg if they did not have in stock. 3 to 5 days from Browns and over night from the Yami dealer then same day on Bus to me.

I did start ordering ahead and stocking a few parts from Pioneer. Into Canada is a crap shoot as to when it will get here can be three weeks or more sometimes. Going to order all the bearings for the Jack shaft and drive shaft for both sleds from Pioneer in the near future. Going to need them at some point no matter what! Half price compared to Canada and even with shipping its still near half!

I had the same problem with the skid bushings since mine were gone after my arm self destructed. Three local dealers didn't have them but found three at a dealer about an hour away. Drove through a snow storm yesterday and took all three just in case. At least I'll be riding today.

Ottawa Yamaha used to be able to get parts for me within one day but they were bought out by a Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, whatever dealer and now, 5 days to get anything. Dealers around here are not sled oriented, more towards quads and motorcycles and that's the problem. Last year, I needed some allen head bolts for the plastics. Had none for a sled but they did have them for a quad, which were the same. Go figure.
