decal adhesive removal

i used WD-40 and it took some elbow grease, but it is almost done . what do i use to prep for decals? need to decide on monster energy or a new flame job.

Denatured alcohol. G.B.

I used gasoline and a plastic adhesiver scraper from my detail supplier. There is some stuff in a squeeze can that works great but I cant remember the name. Acrelac or something?

To remove trail permits off my windshield i use a heat gun (gently) and to remove the glue I use Ronson lighter fluid, and it did not harm the windshied, then clean with a mild soap. Next time I'm going to try WD40

Oh, I thought we were talking about oem hood decals. The adhesive under those can be a REAL bear to remove.

All I can tell you is what not to use, goof off, goo gone, auto mobile adhesive remover at auto stores, paint thinner, acetone, break kleen the reason I mention this is I tried all of these on A 2006 hood that a guy gave me and everyone of these ate up the plastic / deformed it. what I know that does work wd -40, lighter fluid and a little bit of heat. Just my 2 cents worth
