Can anyone explain why the yamaha decals that are just for the side of the hood cost over 100 bucks just for one side. These are the stickers that come on the sled new. But yamaha sells custom graphics for the complete sled for less then 100 in their accessory catalog.

I don't understand either why they are so expensive. The accessory bumper looks great, wish they were more affordable. Not to hijack the thread but how do you like the Arrow skis on your sled?

I feel your pain,I just had my side panels painted and was going to put the factory number plates on until I found the price I may just leave them with out the decals.

I don't know why Yamaha does that, other mfgs too to a degree.
Here is what I think.
Decals are high $$ because they only make so many just enough for production and then a relatively small lot of extras.
They are hard to keep stocked without damage, kind of a perishable item. Depending on how the factory stores them, after a 7-10 years or so they can go bad, brittle, dry. They don't sell quickly unless of accidents.
They change style every single year, while the parts they go on are the same for a model generation.
Stuff like that.. So they price them for the market.

Decals are over rated. Just leave them off. Less weight

I believe the factory decal is better quality then the decal kit that they offer with tighter tolerances. The factory decals comes wrapped with like a wax paper then taped to a peice of card board then sandwiched between another piece to keep them flat. I ordered quite a few when i changed my xtx to orange so I know there expensive. The decal kit is print on one big sheet and not as thick.
