Depressing winter for NH

Well I haven't registered our sleds yet. I'm waiting for decent trails before dumping $130 to register a pair of sleds. I checked the forcast, and nothing but a few flurries for the next 10 days. aaarrrggg.

Well, my apology must have worked and I must have been forgiven just a little bit, we are getting 4-8 right now. Nothing special, but it's a step in the right direction. And you guys better get more snow soon, I want to get up there!!

Well we are actually getting a little snow ourselves, but its light and we are only expected to get 2-4". I guess every little bit helps, as long as it doesn't rain in between! :die

Started to look up .... but now 40 degree weather and RAIN Friday - Tuesday........

This year is just about toast! So much for the farmers almanac

After -20C and heavy gail force wind for a week with now snowfall. We got 1/2" a few days back, but yesterday it warmed up to +5C and it started to rain. Fu@£$€€€ sh@$£€ how depressing it feels right now. Only thing that is positive right now is that rain came down as snow above 1200 ft. Wether forecast says melting temps for a few more days then a little colder and some snow, well I can't wait starting to ride right out of my garage. Now I have to trailer... very long.... 20 miles or so to ride. Let it snow.....

Funny thing is that southern part of Norway, 1000 miles south of me have all the snow in the world and stedy freezing temps. Longyearbyen at Spitsbergen Svalbard at 78 N lattitude have had temps the same as Paris and Athens, about +2C.

Yup, same here in Vermont. We got a few inches over the last few days. Forecast is temps in the mid 40's this weekend. WTF. I give up. Extended forecast still nothing. Very depressing......

It seems like as long you guys in north east of the USA have warm weather so do we in the northern part of Norway. The low pressure systems are coming from north America following the Golf stream across the atlantic ocean to Norway. Usually they hit southern part of Norway but this winter they hit us here in the north. When you get colder temps so do we cause weather in Norway are related to your weather in one way or the other. LET IT SNOW. PS! I'm running out of things to do with my sleds, only thing left is adding fuel and go.

I was in Tromsa, Norway a couple of years ago. I wished I had my sled.

If this keeps up much longer we're going to need to add fuel stabilizer to our tanks. There is going to be a glut of low milage '06 sleds for sale come spring. Purchasing an ATV would have been a better investment. Can anybody say "global warming?"

WOW temps dropped to around freezing and rain went to snow, got 1/2 inch on top of all the ice we have. It may be enough to cool the sliders so we can ride on the lakes and rivers, which have been frozen over for months already. I will go riding this weekend, better check out what the weather report says for the next few days before I start dreaming too much of sledding. Can't wait to ride, I have to ride any day soon or else I'll get crazy.

RX1MPete - I live about 200 miles east of Tromsø. That's the kind of snow we are used to, between 1 and 2 meters (3-6 ft) at the start of April. Hope we get lots until then, trails are open until May 5.

we have been riding here non stop since dec 27, 39 inches total, and i have been complaining about the trail conditions because of all the sled traffic from out of towners. after reading these posts, i will shut the f..k up!!! hope you guys have better luck!

4bangdan, send some down here, would ya? Sled traffic? I asked at the store/gas stop in town (only one between Berlin & Errol) and they haven't had a sled in for almost 2 weeks. And those were just a couple local guys who were just testing the trails, and they didn't get far. Only riding has been further north, and that pretty much stopped last weekend.

I bought an 800 Sportsman in late December. Was thinking of going to an Attak, glad I got the ATV and kept the Warrior.

I've only got 500 miles on, all before New Year in QC. And a few hundred feet around the yard in NH...
