I have two RX-1's (Red and Blue) that need some diagnosing. The Red sled revs out to 11k rpm at WOT and then backs down to about 10,700 rpm. The other problem is that the clutch does not engage untill about 5,500 rpm which I know is not right. Another thing is that the engine light has come on a few times. Not the over heating light but the engine light so I think that the clutch is causing some engine problems.

For the Blue sled, the clutch engages at appox. 4500rpms but only revs out to about 9,500 rpms at WOT and then slowly makes its way up to 10,000 rpms.

Can you guys help me out. I know that the revs are off and it is probably a clutch problem but is it worse than that? Thanks

The 1st sled needs the clutch pulled off & cleaned at least. It is binding somewhere,

2nd clutch is very close to normal.

Thanks Turk, btw the red sled was in an accident and the shop and to redo the clutch so maybe they messed it up? Does this also explain for the engine light to come on?

red one might have a clutch kit in it now. engine light might just be on to indicate over-rev as they cut out at 11000rpm. they pull the best at about 10300rpm.

i would do like turk (our clutching guru) says and clean both clutches and then post up your rpms again.
