what is the gear reduction on an 04 rx-1. somewhere i remember hearing .82-1 but i am not sure. also when people talk about clutch tuning, are they using engine or clutch rpm. mine engages at around 4000 on the tach which translates into 4000rpm at the clutch on a two stroke, but not so on these machines. im finding that i have to reprogram my brain to clutch one of these after 25 years of riding/tuning two strokes. :o|

i think its 37-31 for a .83 reduction. clutch it to run 10200-10500 top rpm as this is where it makes the most power. these engines have very wide power and torque curves and are easy to clutch, unlike many 2 strokes where the power band is the width of the tach needle. when talking about clutching its engine rpm that is used, so dont worry about the clutch rpm.
