The replacement for my 2003 RX1 with 136 EXPERT X and rear mount turbo and 1.5 track (the best sled I ever rode.) is a new Yanaha Apex LTX GT, 2008 anniversary edition with a 136 mono with the OHLINS SHOCK Suspension.
Personally, I don't like it. I was not able to take ski pressure off the front end and it just felt heavy. So for this season, I installed the AD Boivin ZR2 144" suspension and a Cobra 1.375 track, (I will still be able to stud) I am using Walls Brothers Anti Ratchet 9 tooth drivers and added an MPI Stage 1 (8 psi) supercharger.
I'm now wondering if you can take the ski pressure off with the ZR2 suspension? Is there some kind of adjustment for the ZR2?
With the Expert X on the RX1, you could take the skis off the ground or anywhere in between by adjusting one nut, making the front end feel very light.

I think you mean ZX2... but yes. Where on the expertx you had the softness nut and the transfer nut, on the ZX2 you have that wheel thing "revolver" at the bottom of the rear arm that allows for the same adjustments.

Yep with a pull of a pin and rotation of the revolver you can go from rails to wheelies. One word of note though, that revolver is useless once you have beed riding, it ices up and there is no adjusting it. I had a hell of a time putting it on the setting that gives more ski pressure as your trying to put the pin in the very far end of the slot and there is a rubber bushing in there that got in the way. Now that its adjusted to my liking I never touch it. I get about 6" of ski lift if I lean back on it and try to pull them up, otherwise it rails in the tight twisty's. Deep snow on the other hand it will stand on end even in this setting. Makes for pounding the powder a LOT of fun.

That's the same deal I'm finding with the ProX suspension(see avatar). It looks like/feels like the weight transfer setting/set up is all goofy in the deeper stuff. It's not, there is very little ski lift coming out of a hardpack corner....I've never experienced anything quite like it.
I thought it was just the ProX, but you're talking about exactly the same thing I think?

Yep exactly the same thing, the ZX2 rails on hardpack groomed trails (well the front end helps but there is ample pressure) and when I get in powder it will pull the skis straight in the air a little farther then your avatar without even leaning back and assuming the snow is deep enough.
When I did it in about 20" of snow it hit bottom, and flattened right out. I found it needed to be 3'-4' deep to pull the sled completly straight up in the air. I have never cat walked before and I love it!
I bet you have a perfect sled with that proX in there and mods you have done to that Apex, nice work! I plan to enjoy mine for 6000 more miles (hit 10k) and then its FI something for me

That pic is a little early, it's still on it's way up. You can see the roost going out the back is still low/developing. That's a standing start with my 280lb butt planted firmly w/feet in footwells (yanking/standing on back not necessary), in about 24" of kind of heavy stuff. 121", totally dead stock motor and clutching. I haven't touched either. Sled is set up totally for rough trail. This kind of horsing around in the deep was a totally unexpected bonus - and is definetly a blast!
My apologies for getting off subject, but Kinger and I don't get a chance to compare notes often. -Al

Glad you like your yamaha now ahicks! They are fussy to get dialed in but once there, I never stop smiling! I really like your set up, I can imagine its a blast to ride.

thanks to Ahicks...Im pulling my CK out and putting in the IQ dragon suspension with Walker Evans clickers front and back.
Already got the big boy spring and getting t hose shocks rebuilt and revalved for my weight.
I heard nothing but good thigns of the IQ suspension, just some bad things of the motors. Maybe best of both worlds now? I got the dragon suspension for less than the CK's are going for. It had 700 miles on it for 500 bucks.
