Still waiting on my mpi turbo kit to come into my local yamaha dealer and just found out it was pushed back again to Feb 3. Now I am considering cancelling the order and talking to push turbo or hurricane. So, does anyone have much info on either of these turbo kits? Both look quite similar and are in the same price range on a trail turbo kit. I understand this will probably affect any warranty I currently have, but if they have the problems worked out, and they should by now, I shouldn't be making a warranty claim anyway.

If you want something built to OEM Yamaha standards wait for the kit from MPI their stuff looks like it was made by Yamaha themselves. If you want something that looks like it was built by a guy in his garage then go with any of the other options. I had an MCX kit not nearly the quality of the MPI kits but it's all in what a man is willing to wait for. MCX builds nice stuff no doubt but the MPI stuff is just that much better.

Thanks for the input turboJamie, I am not surprised that if yamaha is willing to endorse mpi's kit that it is of the highest quality

buy the stage I directly from MPI. your gonna want that HP anyhow. It is the completed kit with intercooler anyhow. They can't sell the trail turbos direct but can sell the stage I

Who is your dealer?

I got to trail ride my Hurricane 190 kit this weekend. VERY impressed. Smooth, quiet, no underhood heat and I didn't burn that much more gas. Installation was easy. Dave has a nice product.

When I saw the mcexpress kit on the display viper I was surprised I first thought it was the mpi kit and they set it up as advertising

Did atlantic recreation know about the hurriance kit? If so what were there thoughts?

No they did not know about the hurricane kit I also deleted the post I put up because my conversation was with an employee when I was surprised the turbo on display was not the mpi kit not from a manager or anything and do not want to spread anything that may not be true totally accurate .

Understandable. I have the hurriance kit on my 15 but no snow to try it. The hurriance kit is one clean looking install, I'm trying to find something wrong with the kit but nothing. And Dave is the BEST to deal with. Just need snow to try it out.

Some frost here in NL would be nice at least if we get snow it might stick around . Did not mean to hijack post good luck with your turbo decision I'm sure you will be happy whatever you decide.

My dealer is C and C powersports in Brighton, MI. I thought about going with the stage one kit directly from mpi, however that kit is about $1500 more than what I paid. I really wanted to put the kit on before I ride any real miles, but I dont think its going to happen now. Also, I wish someone had more info on the push turbo kit as it is very reasonably priced, comes with gauges, a clutch kit,an intercooler, and a power commander V for $1000 more.

Also, I should've mentioned that I ride a Lot of miles, over 2000 a year, so I will definitely need a kit that is going to last at least 10,000 miles before any major repair work
