I am looking at getting a turbo for my xtx and wanted to know if it will void my warranty. I was going to order the new mtx with factory turbo but yamaha won't sell them to my dealer due to elevation. So now I'm thinking of putting a turbo on what I have, I assume it will void but figured I would ask. Mpi is on the new mtx so wondering if I use their kit if I will be alright

Thanks

Everyone I have talked to says not as long as the failure is not contributable to the turbo.....But when mine blew up after dropping cylinders for 867 miles 5 times and forcing me to ride home 80 + miles on 2 cylinders and calling the installing dealer and them telling me it was not a motor issue it blew and they then blamed it on my gauges - no coverage. I know of another that just blew up and they said it was running to lean even though the AFR numbers were under 11.4 at WOT not covered under warranty.

That makes 2 I know of.

It does not void your warranty. Bit if they find that the turbo caused what ever happened, than you will have to pay for it. Now MPI has a great turbo and great set up. So it's not going to cause the motor to fail. You would need a good set of gauges. For boost and AFR. Make sure you run it fat and you will have no worries. Now if something else fails like let say the skid breaks, you will still have your normal warranty. So pay attention to your numbers and make sure to keep oil in there and anti freeze and you would be good.
